The 1975 Is Pushing Back The Release Of Album ‘Notes On A Conditional Form’

On Monday (January 13), Matty Healy of The 1975 had some unfortunate news to deliver to fans.

He announced that the band's upcoming album, Notes on a Conditional Form, would be pushed back a little over two months from February 21 to April 24.

“It takes like three months or something to physically make a record on vinyl so it comes out on the 24th of April, I think,” Healy said in an Instagram Live. “Sorry if that’s annoying or whatever. For the sake of a couple of months, in the grand scheme of things it doesn’t really make any difference. I know that you want to hear it.”

The one difference it may make is where it'll chart as K-Pop band BTS is releasing its album on The 1975's original release date. The new April date may be beneficial to getting a No. 1 album for the band.

The 1975 will be releasing its next single, “Me & You Together Song,” this Thursday (January 16). “It’s really lovely. It’s sad of course, but it’s really lovely. I wrote it for that film I started writing…but I haven’t done anything about it besides make this,” Healy told NME about the single.

The 1975 have delivered tracks like “People,” “Frail State of Mind,” and another version of “The 1975” before the new song comes out this week. With over 20 tracks on the album, there will be plenty of new songs for the band to share until the album's release date. “There's another song that comes out in February and another song comes out in March and another song comes out just before the record,” Healy told fans in the same Instagram Live.

The band has yet to announce a 2020 North American tour, the band has recently expressed performing in a variety of areas including performing in places that don't share their ideologies.
