The internet is blowing up over this elementary school math problem.... Someone posted the following question on Twitter and people are having a hard time not only figuring out the equation, BUT the fact that this is something a 6-7 YEAR OLD is working on in school!
Here is the math question:
"There were some people on a train. 19 people get off the train at the first stop. 17 people get on the train. Now there are 63 people on the train. How many people were on the train to begin with?"
Essentially that breaks down to X - 19 + 17 = 63. Solve for X which is the original amount of people on the train.
Online there are a ton of different answers. The two most common are 46 and 65, but the correct answer is......... 65!!!
