Are you someone who smokes? Do you take regular cigarette breaks? Well, for those of you who do NOT this could be a pretty cool incentive...
BUT you have to live in Japan, ultimately I believe it's only a matter of time before some US companies start adopting this rule.
A woman in Japan filled out a comment card at her place of work complaining about her colleagues taking frequent smoking breaks while she sat at her desk continuing to work. She felt it wasn't fair that she had to put in a full day while others got to take 10-15 minute breaks every hour or so each day.
Her comment made it all the way to the top of the company and the management team decided to take action. The dropped a rule that states, IF you're a non smoker you will be allotted SIX days of paid vacation to make up for the lost time. The CEO of the company also hopes that by creating this rule, it may force smokers to quit their habit.
