Wasn't this supposed to be released on the 10th! Consarnit!
Dave Grohl/Foo Fighters just released "Play," a mini-documentary about the obsession of learning and appreciating your instrument. He talked with kids who are in a music program (and you see his daughter Violet jamming too). Via Foo Fighters YouTube:
“PLAY” by Dave Grohl celebrates the rewards and challenges of dedicating one’s life to playing and mastering a musical instrument. Part one opens with narrated behind the scenes footage featuring discussion of the love of playing music and the lifelong relationship with an instrument, and detailing the process and challenges of recording and filming this unique performance. “PLAY" film then segues to the titular 23-minute, one-man-band instrumental recording on which Grohl plays all seven instruments on the track, all live.
I can't wait to see this performed at Cal Jam. Here's how I think it could work: one real Dave Grohl and six children (presumably the kids in this documentary) dressed as Dave Grohl, so that way you still have seven Dave Grohls playing a 23-miunte song. But watch-Dave will just clone himself and surprise us all.
