Well...looks like there's another busy weekend in Bakersfield...
Bakersfield Relay for Life is back over at the Fairgrounds this weekend! Bakersfield’s event is one of the largest Relays in the world and helps raise funds to benefit American Cancer Society. While I doubt that I really need to tell you more about this event (we all know about it, it seems), you can get more info HERE!
Walk around downtown Bakersfield and get to know some of the city’s best artists! Support local artists and you’re supporting Bakersfield. *nudge*
There’s a new show opening at Bubble Pop Galley at the Fox Theater! “Hook’d on Art: A Flight to Neverland” Art Show is displaying lovely art inspired by the magic of Peter Pan. Get more info HERE!
Free Comic Book Day!
Did you know that it’s the 30th anniversary of Venom? We can’t believe that! Make sure to stop by Silverwolf Comics, Dark Side Comics, and Comicwise to get see what’s available for this awesome annual event! And, if you want to see what will be available for Free Comic Book Day, go HERE!
Neil Young and Crazy Horse at Fox Theater!
This is like the Classic Rock version of how we got Nine Inch Nails for a surprise show last year. Uncle Neil and Crazy Horse are gracing Bakersfield for a few shows and this is bound to be amazing. If you’ve never seen Neil Young in concert, and you’re a fan, GET ON THIS. You can get more info at http://neilyoungarchives.com/ but I’ll be real: these tickets are kind of heftily priced. More info via Robert Price at the Bakersfield Californian HERE!
Here's a taste of what was done at the Fresno show:
