Beastie Boys: Licensed to Ill

On March 7th, 1987, Beastie Boys became the first rap act to have a number one album when their debut effort, Licensed to Ill, topped the charts. That is INSANE to think about. It took a pretty long time for rap to get its recognition and I am happy that this group-one of my ALL-TIME favorites- had a hand in it.

Licensed to Ill is still a fantastic album to listen to. "Brass Monkey?" Check. "No Sleep Till Brooklyn?" Check. "Paul Revere," "Fight for Your Right," "Posse Effect," "Girls," "Slow and Low,"etc.? So much check.

Also, I LOVE this. Beastie Boys on Soul Train! Don Cornelius was diggin' on the group.
